Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
11. Which testing posture (sitting or lying) is better?

Both positions are allowed for ANSWatch testing. However, some rules apply:
  • Testing results are slightly different between sitting and lying postures.  So, stick
to one position for the entire study or follow-up
  • For those with weak pulse signals or patients who have difficulty maintaining a
stable posture (such as children), it is better to test under lie-down position.
  • Consistent  test  results are obtained by having a soft pad under the wrist to
stabilize the patient's wrist and palm, regardless of sitting or lying. The pad
supports and raises up the wrist so that the palm can be relaxed downward.
Radial artery is exposed upward under such a posture for high signal quality.
